Everett's First Birthday

Campfires are Everett's favorite thing so for his first birthday Lacey and
Brandon made a very creative campfire cake! They used melted Jolly
Ranchers for the fire and Twix for the logs, and then toasted
marshmallows to put around it. I contributed with two oversized
s'mores made out of miniature cakes.

Lacey lit a marshmallow on fire for the candle to Everett's s'more cake

Everett was thrilled!

And although we had been practicing blowing out candles, he wasn't
quite sure what to do when the lit marshmallow came toward him.

He wasted no time digging into the cake!

Walking lessons were a hit on his Everett's birthday! He's taken
several consecutive steps before but was even more motivated
when Havilah was offering a marshmallow as a reward.

He's very proud of himself when he walks...

...and he seems to think its fun to have the camera
documenting his success...

...but the best part is finally reaching Havilah...

...and getting his marshmallow reward.

I'm so thankful for the first year Everett's life! I never imagined how much I'd love being an aunt.

Blog Neglect

I've been neglecting my blog lately, not for lack of posting options but for lack of time to post! It's been a very busy fall season and one of the best I can remember.

Mom and we girls got to make a trip to Washington D.C.
and Mt. Vernon in September.  It was so much fun to
have Mardel and Robbi along!

We took a family walk in Franconia Park in New Hampshire. It was beautiful!

Warren and I have gotten to spend a lot of time
together and I love every minute I get to be with him!
